April 10 -16, 2021 as
the week of the young child hosted by Puakalehua Early Learning Consortium
Brings to focus the importantance of Early Learning in setting the foundation for life-long learning skills and educational success
On March 16, 2021, Bobby Command, Hawaii County Deputy Managing Director, presented on behalf of Mayor Mitch Roth, a Resolution that was sponsored by the Puakalehua Early Learning Consortium proclaiming April 10 -16, 2021 as
the Week of the Young Child.
According to Lehua Kaulukukui, Chair of the Puakalehua Consortium, “We are excited and proud that Mayor Roth has acknowledged through the Proclamation, the dedication of early learning professionals in setting the foundation for life-long educational success in our keiki and their ‘ohana.” The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families, and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. This year marks the 50th anniversary of this nation-wide celebration.
The Puakalehua Early Learning Consortium is a collective impact group comprised of 30+ schools, agencies, and organizations which support all areas of early learning.
